Our Founders’ Story
It started with a favour. It became a calling. Insiza Concierge wasn’t born in a boardroom. It grew quietly, in the spaces between our corporate careers, between global conference calls, airport lounges, and late-night WhatsApps asking, “Do you know someone who can help with…?” At the time, we were both working in senior IT leadership roles. Neda was managing major digital strategy portfolios across Africa, from Nigeria to Angola, Tanzania to Kenya, and was the go-to person for colleagues who needed a safe hotel, reliable transport, or a last-minute executive dinner. It wasn’t her job. She just knew how to make things happen. Meanwhile, Michelle was living in the U.S., with South Africa always part of her story. Friends, ex-colleagues, and clients would ask, “Who should we talk to in Cape Town? Where should we stay?” She would answer quietly and confidently, out of love for her country and pride in what it had to offer.
We soon realised the need was bigger than favours. Executives and entrepreneurs wanted to come to South Africa but did not know who to trust on the ground.
They were not looking for tour guides. They needed partners. People who understood both the pace of business and the richness of local culture. People who could deliver with excellence, discretion and elegance. That is when we knew. What we had been doing instinctively for years was a business. “Insiza” means help or assistance in Zulu. While based in the United States, Michelle’s deep connection to South Africa remained central to her identity. She became a trusted resource for friends, colleagues, and international clients seeking guidance on visiting the country — offering curated recommendations and personalised arrangements with discretion and precision.
At Insiza Concierge, Michelle applies her strategic insight and operational expertise to design services that embody quiet luxury and African elegance. She ensures each client experience is executed with meticulous attention to detail, cultural authenticity, and uncompromising service standards — creating journeys that are as seamless as they are memorable.
Neda Smith
Neda Smith is an accomplished senior IT executive with extensive experience leading large-scale digital strategy portfolios across Africa. Her career has taken her to markets including Nigeria, Angola, Tanzania, and Kenya, where she developed a reputation for delivering complex, high-stakes projects with precision, discretion, and cultural intelligence.
Alongside her corporate leadership roles, Neda became the trusted point of contact for colleagues and executives travelling into these regions — coordinating transport, securing high-standard accommodation, and arranging bespoke experiences that blended business efficiency with local authenticity.
Since returning to South Africa, Neda has continued to lead in the technology sector while co-founding Insiza Concierge. At Insiza, she applies her operational expertise and deep regional knowledge to create seamless, high-touch journeys for executives, PAs, and discerning travellers. Her approach ensures every client not only receives exceptional service, but feels truly at home in South Africa.
